Hence, Integral Management were requested to assist with the completion of the 6 phases of curtain walling and windows to an impressing refurbishment contract at Ashorne Hill Management College near Leamington Spa.

Work has finally started on the installation of the external cladding to a Project in Halifax. We are using Z135 Access Platforms (that’s 42m to you and me) or some 12 stories up. There are stood on the road inside the external site hording to give the installation teams access across the low level roof up to the face of the building we are working on. This phase consisting of 750 m sq. which is programmed to be installed in a 6 week period and will be completed by mid September with phase 2 commencing in October 2011
When my client awarded us the Management responsibility for Pleckgate School in Blackburn, they had already recognised that the complexity of the contract and the nature of the materials being used required close control throughout the life of the contract.
My client’s brief was to ensure all elements were controlled carefully from design, procurement and delivery of materials, to site installation, and ensuring the profit margin was protected at all times
This brief made it necessary for us to review and agree the initial contract programme with Balfour Beatty Educational Division at the outset of the contract. We then formulated a detailed programme which we discussed and agreed with all departments. Our first step was to keep a close eye on the design procedure to ensure design details and final drawing issue was achieved in line with the programme dates. We also had practical design input so that all on site activities e.g. fixing, lifting etc. were taken into consideration at the design stage. Due to the scale of the site it was necessary to carefully schedule deliveries so that materials were manufactured and packed in the correct sequence to ensure maximum site efficiency. Due to the complexity of the materials, and lengthy lead times, regular updates were required from suppliers to confirm their production was on schedule. In some cases supplier visits were required to ensure delivery deadlines could be achieved to ensure the on-site programme could be executed as initially agreed. Where a change in the site programme was unavoidable, we kept in close communication with the Main Contractor to ensure he could accommodate these changes with as little disruption as possible to his overall project programme.
Our careful control of design, material delivery and the overall programme sequence, ensured the site installation programme was concluded with a week to spare. Site installation had its own challenges but with thoughtful communication with our specialist Access Company and Installation Teams a safe and speedy installation method was agreed.
The end result is a very visually appealing and practical solution, completed within programme and on budget

We are proud of the services we offer to our various clients in the Curtain Walling Façade sector. This is what one Managing Director has to say about the services we have offered and how we have helped to develop his business.
“Nigel was recommended to me through a business colleague in the façade industry who had worked with Nigel in his previous role as Contracts Director with a Midlands based Curtain Walling company.
From our initial meeting, it was obvious that he had both a passion for and a great deal of knowledge of the Façade industry. Nigel has subsequently worked in my company undertaking Tender, Sales and Project Management assignments. He has easily integrated himself into the business and refers to ‘we’ when talking to clients and suppliers alike, an approach I like very much.
Nigel’s knowledge of the industry has helped us to gain pricing advantage with new suppliers and products. His practical knowledge and attention to detail has ensured our on site Project Management runs smoothly. He is very friendly and helpful but remains business like at all times.
Nigel has an on-going relationship with my companies and I hope we will have a long and successful business partnership together. I would not hesitate to recommend him to any other business owner”.

Integral Management were engaged by Lambourn Contracts to manage the design, procurement, delivery and installation of this bespoke designed fully slide operable Glazed Roof light for a very prestige client in north London. Following the demise of the original sub contractor Integral Management were employed to manage the detailed process of ensuring the bespoke structure, which came from a specialist sliding roof manufacture in the USA was delivered correctly and on programme.
There were numerous specific requirements for the size and operability of the roof not least that it was to be manually operated unlike the usual mechanical device which would be associated with a roof of this size and weight. Integral worked tirelessly with the supplier to ensure the design and delivery particulars were managed to the last detail to ensure a seamless process.
When open, the roof light creates a clear opening of 4000 mm x 5500 mm which we believe is the largest single opening roof light installed in the UK. To see a video of the roof in action click here.

Part of our client base is sourced through professional Agents with whom we have developed a successful working relationship. This is what one Agent has to say about how we operate.
“I first met Nigel 2 years ago and have stayed in regular contact since; he is an exceptional individual combining a real hunger for success with a practical, common sense approach. He works in an inclusive manner, focusing on team rather than individual achievement and backs it with a wicked sense of humour, ideal for delivering great results in a pressured contracting environment. Nigel is never one to avoid difficult situations and I have been impressed with his attitude in dealing with team dynamics and confrontation. He is an external fenestration industry, curtain-walling specialist with great knowledge of the building market who readily challenges existing principles if he can see a better way of working. I believe Nigel could add value to any business in his specialist sector.”
