Assignment Details
- We were instructed to provide an overview management service with responsibility for design, procurement, logistics, programme, H&S and on-site installation teams
- This included the review and monitoring of all the above aspects of the project with emphasis on programme
- Weekly monitoring and reporting on all aspects of the progress of the package
- Negotiating andprocuring on site access and other hired items
- Identifying and highlighting any contract issues and managing to a conclusion
- Communication with Carillion to maintain and develop client relationship
Project Challenges
- The package had been secured and was progressing through the design state when we were engaged
- We reviewed and imparted our practical experiences at the design stage to ensure buildability to all elements
- The concrete frame with inserted metsec modules created a very challenging perimeter EPDM and silicone seal detail
- To ensure compliance we completed a sample room and trailed the perimeter seal to ensure the design concept actually worked on site
- We also monitored and updated the overall project programme on a daily and weekly basis, hand in hand with Carillion construction programme and fed this information back to all in-house departments to ensure phases were, designed, procured and manufacture in good time
- We monitored glass sealed unit orders and coordinated delivery to site with the supplier
- Glass sealed units to the 4 no large atrium roof lights required mobile and spider cane access. We met with the supply chain companies and negotiated the order along with all H&S requirements for this operation
- We also managed all site reporting plus H&S documentation, and held weekly progress safety and training meeting with the installation team
